William J Bodziak served with the FBI for
29 years, spending nearly 25 of those years
assigned in the FBI Laboratory. He holds a
Bachelor of Arts degree in biology from East
Carolina University, and a Master of Science in
forensic science degree from George Washington
University. Since his assignment to the FBI
Laboratory in 1973, he has worked full time
in the areas of footwear, tire and questioned
document evidence and now operates as a
private consultant under Bodziak Forensics in
Palm Coast, FL. He currently serves on the
IAI Footwear and Tire Track Subcommittee
and on the Scientific Working Group for Shoe
and Tire Track Evidence (SWGTREAD). He
has authored the textbooks entitled Footwear
Impression Evidence: Detection, Recovery
and Examination (2000) and Tire Tread and
Tire Track Evidence: Recovery and Forensic
Examination (2008) as well as chapters in
other texts and numerous articles regarding
impression and document evidence.
