Corporate Leadership

Chairman of the Board - Dwight C. Paulsen

Dwight C. Paulsen is a co-founder of Fusion Companies, LLC, the parent company of the International Academy of Public Safety, where he serves both as the Chairman of the Board.
Mr. Paulsen is also a co-founder of EDG Inc., a full-service, multi-discipline international consulting firm serving the oil & gas and industrial markets. In a 20- plus year career with EDG Inc., he helped expand the company with operations in multiple states and countries.
Mr. Paulsen's leadership evolved EDG to be one of the first engineering companies in Luanda, Angola, and West Africa, with offices in the Gulf of Mexico, Southeast Asia, South America, and Eastern Europe.
Mr. Paulsen is also a joint holder of three patents related to the oil industry and with his guidance, EDG set a world record for deep water production rates with the Shell "Popeye" offshore oil well platform. Also, with his leadership, EDG became one of the first companies to participate in the corporate "Character First Program".

Chief Executive Officer - Michael J. Brooks

Michael J. Brooks is the founder of Fusion Companies, LLC, where he serves as the Chief Executive Officer. In this capacity, he oversees all executive operations and training divisions of the company.
Michael served with the federal government a total of 25 years with the U.S. Air Force and the FBI as a Combat Photographer, Scientific & Technical Photographer, and as the Sr. Instructor of Scientific & Technical Photography at the FBI Academy for more than 10 years where he obtained his training instructor certification. He retired from the FBI in 2007.
Mr. Brooks has assisted in over 1000 investigations in his career and has trained over 10,000 members of the public safety community from all 50 states and many countries around the world. He has presented more than 50 lectures at the FBI Academy.
Mr. Brooks has also conducted over 100 specialized workshops for all levels of personnel in the public safety community. Over the past decade, he has been a frequent lecturer at numerous public safety conferences.
Mr. Brooks is a recipient of the prestigious John Levitow Award For Leadership from the United States Air Force and has also been decorated by the FBI Director.

Chief Operating Officer - L. Douglas Admire

L. Douglas Admire is a co-founder of Fusion Companies, LLC, where he currently serves as the President of Fusion Companies, LLC and as the Chief Operating Officer of its subsidiary, The International Academy of Public Safety (IAPS). In this capacity, he oversees the global and domestic operations and marketing divisions of the company.
Prior to co-founding these companies, Mr. Admire worked as an information technology industry expert with the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
For several years, Mr. Admire also worked in the private sector as a network engineer designing and implementing fiber optic and data management systems.
Mr. Admire completed his undergraduate work at Louisiana State University where he was awarded a full scholarship with the LSU football program upon which he also earned letterman honors.

President & Chief Marketing Officer - Mitch Javidi, PhD.

Mitch Javidi, Ph.D., is the Chief Marketing Officer for Fusion Companies, LLC, and he also serves as the President and Chief Marketing Officer of the International Academy of Public Safety. In this capacity, he oversees the overall operations of the academy as well as its global sales/marketing strategies and implementation.
Dr. Javidi is also an Adjunct Professor of business strategy & market research at both North Carolina State and Illinois State Universities.
Dr. Javidi is a member of the Academy of Outstanding Teachers & Scholars and has received prominent acclaim for his strategic planning initiatives. Dr. Javidi is forward-thinking and process-outcome focused. His energetic leadership has been recognized for high-profile marketing and business turnaround achievements affecting revenue, stability, and profitability for many businesses.
As a strategic and creative leader, Dr. Javidi has a proven ability to catapult communication and marketing worldwide, spearhead operations, and drive goal achievement through change management and innovations. He has served more than 1,800 clients and has produced more than 2,780 corporate reports over the last 25 years. Additionally, he has more than 60 articles and book chapters with more than 400 national and international presentations to his credit.
Dr. Javidi became an honorary member of the United States Department of Defense Special Operations in 1999 and was named "Person of the Year" by the National Society of Accountants in 1998.

Vice President of Research and Training, International Academy of Public Safety - Dr. Elayne Pope

Dr. Elayne Pope is the Vice President and Director of Education and Research for the International Academy of Public Safety. In this capacity, she oversees all aspects of education and research programs and faculty relations.
Dr. Pope earned her doctoral degree in biological anthropology at the University of Arkansas in 2007. Her foundational training is in human osteology, bio-archaeology, and forensic anthropology.
Dr. Pope specializes in how the human body changes after death and the different processes that lead to skeletonization. Her primary research has investigated how the body's soft and skeletal tissues progressively change during different fire scenarios (structural, vehicular, and criminal) and the different types of evidence that remains for medico-legal analysis.
Dr. Pope is a not only a well respected researcher, she possesses vast field experience by consulting on fire death investigations by local, county, and state fire and law enforcement agencies when investigating suspicious fire deaths and to help bring closure to families of victims.

Marty Huguenin

Marty Huguenin serves as the Fire and Rescue TV Program Manager for the International Academy of Public Safety. In this capacity, he oversees all aspects of instructor and course development within the International Academy of Public Safety and its Fire and Rescue training programs.
Mr. Huguenin retired after 31 years of service to the City of Costa Mesa Fire Department in Southern California. During his career, he held the ranks of Fire Fighter, Fire Fighter/Paramedic, Captain and Fire Arson Investigator.
Mr. Huguenin attended the California State Fire Academy and earned certificates through the California State Board of Fire Services in the following: Firefighter I and II, Fire Officer, Fire Investigator I and II (#870225), Fire Prevention Officer I, II and III; Fire Training Instructor I, II and Master Training Instructor III, Public Training Officer.
Mr. Huguenin also attended classes at the National Fire Academy in Emmitsburg, Maryland, and at the FBI Academy, Quantico, VA. His additional education includes training given by the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives, at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center (FLETC) Glynco, Georgia; MacKaig Investigations; P.O.S.T. Certified Training P.C. 832, and the Costa Mesa Police Department.
His memberships and associations include the California Conference of Arson Investigators, CCAI and International Association of Arson investigators, IAAI.
Mr. Huguenin has also executed fire investigations and given courtroom testimony in the private sector for fire cause analysis in Berkeley, California. He is a licensed private investigator in the State of California. (#222520).
